An interview with Wayne Rooney:

Do you like designer clothes: I'm not really interested in clothes.
I tend to go twice a year to a shop in Manchester
and buy a load of whatever they have.
Mostly I wear stuff that I pick up from Nike.
OMG.he shops like only TWICE a year,
for earning so much!

Do you smoke? No. I did try when I was 14, but gave up after a few puffs.
On holiday, after a meal, I might have one cigar.

Great hair style. Who cuts it? Ha ha. Either Coleen or her mum. I never go to a hairdresser, can't be bothered. I'm not interested in hairstyles - I either have mine short, or very short.

What is the most surprising thing which has ever happened to you?
My first full England call-up. I thought it was for the Under-21s.

What is a common misconception about you...
That I am yobbish and always in trouble.
In all honesty I try to lead as quiet a life as possible.

Best goal ever scored:
For Manchester United against Newcastle at Old Trafford on 24th April 2005 when we beat them 2-1. One of their defenders had headed out a clearance and I caught it on the volley from about 25 yards and it flew into the top corner. Just a few seconds before I had been arguing with the ref, can't remember what about now. I wasn't really looking for the ball when it seemed to fall out of the sky. I whacked it out of frustration and anger at the ref - and it flew in.

Best game ever played: My debut for Manchester United on 28th September 2004 when we played Fenerbahce in the Champions League. I got a hat-trick.

Best British players played with or against: Paul Scholes, Stevie Gerrard.

Best foreign player played with or against: Zinedine Zidane.

Young players to watch:
Cesc Fabregas of Arsenal, Lionel Messi of Barcelona, Giuseppe Rossi and Gerard Pique of Manchester United.

Not really, apart from the fact I now tend to put on my shirt sitting at one place, then my boots and socks elsewhere.
